Digital meet-ups

My Friday thought: You don't have to be there to gain value, but a person does need to think about those that can't be there.

Experiencing meet-ups in different locations has given me more than the actual content of those meet-ups. Diversity of thoughts, dynamics of groups and a continual view on what it’s like to be new to a group. Within a working environment a cadence where we can meet as humans provides a strong working relationship and a chance to know the people I work with better.

There is no doubt that being in person during certain situations can provide value outside of the actual context of the occasion, however, money, time, distance and life means you can’t always attend a conference/event.

Maybe more importantly you shouldn't have to! Digital media has broken down this barrier to allow us to get some of the value from a conference without attending and I feel creating more of this context and benefits for people is vital to supporting the diverse nature of humans.

So my advise, check out some conferences that offer recording Goto you-tube conference are my 'go to' 😉 as within them I have learnt loads and been inspired too.
